Leaving primary school behind and transferring to secondary school is an important and exciting milestone in your child’s life. However, many Year 6 pupils, and their parents, have difficulties and anxieties about this big step.

Concerns often include issues like:

  • confidence and self-esteem, 
  • and many more. 
These concerns can cause children (and their parents!) significant stress and anxiety during Year 6, the summer holidays, and at the beginning of Year 7. These anxieties may not only spoil what should be an exciting time for you and your child, but also impact on their mental health, confidence, self-esteem, and learning.
